Jets coach Adam Gase had some words for Sam Darnold after the 22-year-old got a little carried away in his comments after beating the Giants.
Darnold mentioned the playoffs remaining a possibility for the 2-7 Jets, which drew some chuckles. Gase reminded Darnold not to look too far ahead.
“I told Sam, let’s just focus on this week,” Gase said Wednesday.
The Jets have not won two games in a row since October of last year, so it is hard to imagine any player looking past the 1-8 Redskins on Sunday, but Gase is making sure no one is feeling overconfident after their 34-27 win over the Giants.
