Big East College Hoops: Patrick Ewing’s Georgetown Wins Final

Basketball Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing and Georgetown defeated No. 17 Creighton 73-48 in the Big East tournament final to secure a place in the NCAA Tournament.

The win marks Georgetown’s first conference title since 2007. The Hoyas won four games in four days, defeating Marquette, Villanova and Seton Hall to reach the championship game at Madison Square Garden.

Senior forward Chudier Bile led Georgetown with 19 points and added eight rebounds. The Hoyas took control with an 18-0 run to end the first half.

Patrick Ewing had a number of crowning achievements at Madison Square Garden as a player. Now, he has one as a coach that can rival any of them.
