In the 130 year history of Carnegie Hall, this will be the first time they will miss an entire season.
They will be canceling their performances from April 6th through July at all three of their venues. This closure is an extension of the one that started March 13, 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic. The iconic NYC venue hopes to reopen its doors in October for the 2021-2022 season.
Carnegie’s Voices of Hope festival will move to online performance from April 16-30. They plan to announce the programming for this festival soon.
The pandemic has also caused the closure to many other live theater/performances in the city. The Metropolitan Opera will miss a season for the first time and hopes to start new in September. Broadway theaters have also been closed since March.
